These porcelain pieces are part of a larger collection where I explore the Nerikomi technique, layering and slicing colored clay to reveal organic, almost textile-like patterns. Each form is hand-built, allowing the clay’s own character to shape the final silhouette.
The collection was fired using both an electric kiln and a rocket kiln, creating subtle variations in tone and surface quality. Some works feature an abalone shell glaze, leaving soft, iridescent flashes across the porcelain that catch light in unexpected ways.
