This is a photo essay titled "The Space Between" photographed by Josemarie Nyagah for VII Foundation. The images are of residents who have been living in Deep Sea, a slum surrounded by affluent communities in Nairobi, Kenya. They have been and are still at risk of losing their homes because the land they have been living on is now marked for road construction. These images were taken in November 2018 and March 2019. They have been exhibited at The Alchemist Bar in Nairobi (with VII Foundation) and Deep Sea Slum (with Amnesty International-Kenya).
